Birds of a Feather

This quilt began with traditional quilt patterns I painted on square panels. Atop the quilt designs, I added various birds. I then photographed the panels and had fabric printed of the images. Then I combined the bird squares with coral squares and hand quilted the entire quilt. On the coral fabric, I quilted along the tiny feather print in the fabric. On the original bird fabrics, I quilted along the lines of the traditional quilt block patterns.
